Bat walks and events 2026

It can be cold during bat walks with uneven ground, please wear warm clothing and suitable shoes. A torch will also be useful but should not be shone towards the bats.

Please note there may be a charge for some of the events and walks. Additional dates and events may be added at a later date, with all updates emailed out to members.

30th May. 11am – 4pm. Staffordshire Bat Group have a stall at Ezz Fest, held for Essington Village Festival at Essington Rugby Club, High Hill, Essington, WV11 2DW. The event will have a DJ, food, stalls and a bat. Event admission free.

30th May 9.10pm. A joint event with Lichfield Group SWT. Bat walk at Fisherwick Lakes, Fisherwick Wood Lane, WS13 6QF. The lakes are accessed by going through Whittington village not Fisherwick. Meet at the Fishing Centre car park. Free to join but donations are welcome.

10th June. 9pm. Staffordshire Bat Group lead a bat count in the beer garden at Tamworth Tap, 29 Market Stret, B79 7LR. Booking not required.

11th July 9.15pm Staffordshire Bat Group lead a bat walk at Chasewater Country Park, Pool Lane, Brownhills, Walsall, WS8 7NL. To book call 01543 370737.

25th July. 9.25pm. Staffordshire Bat Group lead a walk around Dosthill Park. Meet at the car park opposite the DORCAS centre, Blackwood Road, Dosthill, B77 1JE. A joint event with the Friends of Dosthill Park. Booking not required.

31st July. 7pm - late. Staffordshire Bat Group lead a Bat walk at Rosliston Forestry Centre, Swadlincote, DE12 8JX. £5 per person. Booking essential. Book via their website… Night Watch - Rosliston Forestry Centre.

26th August. 8pm. Staffordshire Bat Group lead a talk and listening to bats in the beer garden at Tamworth Tap, 29 Market Stret, B79 7LR. Booking not required.
